On the top of the RS 301 rain sensor there is a corrosion-resistant sensor plate which is connected to an AC voltage of approx. 24 - 28 V AC/50 Hz. The sensor plate is electrically heated so that the electrodes dry quickly, e.g. after a rainfall. If rainwater gets onto the sensor plate, a signal is transmitted to the RM 301 rain detector and a switching operation is triggered. Max. two rain sensors RS 301 can be connected to one switching device RM 301.
The rain sensor RS 301 must be mounted on the main weather side in an unprotected place (connect lightning protection earth). When rain or snow starts to fall, a switching signal is sent to the switching device RM 301 ( Rain Sensor RM 301 ).
Function control:
If the sensor surface of the rain sensor is touched with a slightly moistened hand, a rain signal is sent to the switching device.
