Feeding geese made easy
Making agriculture effective with electric drives
We all try to make our everyday life and the work associated with it as effective and simple as possible. That's why today we want to present an idea from our customers that has really excited us: Max H. uses an electric drive to make grain removal from a silo extremely easy. We have taken a closer look at this method below and asked Max a few questions about it.
Before
How does opening the silo normally work?
Max H.: "Muscle power is required so that the feed can run out of the silo: With the help of grandpa's old fire hook, I then virtually knock against the slide. Due to the pressure of the feed, this is not so easy - especially closing it by hand is very difficult."
Using an electric drive
How did you come up with the idea of using an electric drive?
Max H.: "I thought about the easiest way to open the silo without using a lot of force. So I came up with the idea that an electric motor would be ideal. After a short internet search I came across Windowdrives. Since my case is a bit more special, I asked for advice over the phone and was then able to order without any complications.
How does the whole thing work now?
Max H.: "With the drive, opening the silo is very easy: I have a ventilation button with which I can either open or close the lock. It's super convenient, of course, and the only thing needed is some electricity."
Has the drive been worth it so far?
Max H.: "Definitely! We only ordered one drive for now, just to test the whole thing. We will also have our second silo gate valve retrofitted. It's a super thing and really simplifies the work a lot."
