Retrofit bedroom window with drive
Protection against aircraft noise, damp windows, stuffy air - there are many reasons why our customers retrofit windows in bedrooms with motorized openers.
Since in principle almost every window can be retrofitted with a drive, we will only discuss a few special features with regard to bedrooms here.
Aircraft noise vs. drive noise
What is not considered or underestimated in most cases of retrofitting is the fact that electric drives also make a noise. So if the window closes automatically in the middle of the night or perhaps around early morning, you will almost certainly wake up to the running noise of the drive. We have a wide range of drives (usually chain drives are used), but they are different "loud" and also have different running noises (buzzing, pulsating, knocking, ...).
However, it can be stated as a general rule: The more expensive the drive, the quieter it is. The higher-priced drives - usually those of German manufacturers - are built much more precisely, have higher-quality components and are trimmed for quiet running. You can find particularly quiet drives from the manufacturer D+H and recently a nearly silent one from Windowmaster (drives with TrueSpeed™).
