BSC Rain detector RM 401/C

The rain detection device consists of the RM 401/C rain detector and the RS 401 rain sensor (the RS 401 rain sensor must be ordered separately). The device is used to automatically close electrically operated windows, awnings or ventilation units when rain or snow starts to fall. The rain detection is carried out by the rain sensor RS 401 to be connected externally. Alternatively, the ventilation can be controlled by the RM 401/C via a thermostat which also has to be connected externally or via ventilation pushbuttons to be connected externally, whereby the rain detection always has the highest priority.

One LED each signals the switching status for rain and temperature. One potential-loaded and two potential-free changeover contacts (230 V AC) are available for controlling the motors. 

RS 401 rain sensor and rain evaluation

If rainwater gets onto the sensor electrodes, a signal is forwarded to the RM 401/C and a switching operation of the output relays is triggered. This switching operation is indicated by a "Rain" LED. After the electrodes have been dried by the built-in heater, the output relays switch back.

• Rain sensor Measuring principle: conductivity measurement Electrode heating integrated in the sensor. Rain sensitivity adjustable in 3 steps: low, medium, high (by jumper).
