The wind/rain sensor consists of a wind wheel and a rain sensor surface on the sensor cover. A changeover contact is activated by wind and/or rain.
Measuring principle for wind: by a wind wheel
Measuring principle for rain: Conductance measurement with heated sensor surface
The settings for sensitivity and delay can be changed.
The settings for the wind trigger threshold (the wind strength) causes the sensor to switch a changer when the set wind value is exceeded.
Pick-up and drop-out delay together with triggering in case of power failure is done by a 6-pole DIP switch in the sensor.
The wind/rain sensor must be mounted at the highest possible location, but at least 2 meters above the highest point of the building, in order to achieve a reliable measurement.
