BSC Wind Rain Detector WRM 401/C

The wind/rain detection unit, consisting of the WRM 401/C wind/rain detector and the WRF 401/C wind/rain sensor (which must be ordered separately), is used to automatically close electrically operated windows, awnings or ventilation units when it starts to rain or snow, or when there is wind. Wind/rain detection is performed by the wind sensor or rain sensor of the WRF 401/C, which must be connected externally. Alternatively, the ventilation of the WRM 401/C can be controlled by an externally connected thermostat or by ventilation pushbuttons which can also be connected externally, whereby the wind/rain detection always has the highest priority.

One LED each indicates the switching status for wind, rain and temperature. One potential-loaded and two potential-free changeover contacts (230 V AC) are available for controlling the motors.

WRF 401/C wind/rain sensor and wind evaluation
The wind sensor of the WRF 401/C consists of a wind wheel which, depending on the wind speed, generates a certain switching frequency which triggers a switching operation of the output relays. This switching operation is indicated by a "Wind" LED.

If rainwater gets onto the sensor electrodes, a signal is forwarded to the WRM 401/C and a switching operation of the output relays is triggered. This switching operation is indicated by a "Rain" LED. After the electrodes have been dried by the built-in heater, the output relays switch back.
