Stairwell SHEVS: Retrofitting in listed buildings

The normal case with regard to cable routing in the stairwell is as follows:

  • The SHEV control panel is installed on the top floor near the drive.
  • A cable (4x2x0.6/0.8) is laid from the control panel to the first SHEV button on the upper floor (E30).
  • From the SHEV button on the upper floor, the line continues down to the SHEV button on the ground floor. There may be others in between. So always from SHEV button to SHEV button.
  • The SHEV control panel requires a separately fused 230V supply line.
  • The cable to the drive, also E30, is relatively short because of its proximity to the control center.

For cable routing, please observe the cable system guideline (LAR), which requires E30 cable routing.

Wired connection of SHEV pushbuttons

TRH-RWA-min

As you can see, all cables except one are located in the immediate vicinity of the SHEV control panel. However, connecting the SHEV pushbuttons to each other can be an enormous effort. After all, with invisible cable routing, a slot must be chiseled in the masonry of the  stairwell from top to bottom so that the cable can be laid under plaster.

In order to be able to save exactly this line, we recommend our SHEV control panel EMB 7300 with radio link to the SHEV buttons. This means that no cable is required to the SHEV buttons. The necessary safety is also ensured: The communication via radio is bidirectional, i.e. the control panel and all SHEV buttons "talk" to each other on a regular basis. This ensures permanent functioning of the entire SHEV system.

SHEV pushbuttons linked to SHEV control panel by radio

TRH-SHE radio min

To turn a standard SHEV control panel into one with radio, a radio module and an antenna are required for the SHEV control panel, as well as radio SHEV buttons. Conventional SHEV buttons cannot be retrofitted with radio.

You can save yourself the (chargeable) software required for commissioning if we do the programming for you. We install the radio module in the control panel, parameterize it and teach all SHEV buttons. The control panel is then ready for operation with regard to the radio link. All you have to do on site is insert the batteries included in the scope of delivery into the SHEV buttons and, of course, mount the external antenna.
