Proper ventilation in gyms
How best to implement your ventilation concept in pandemic times
The AHA rule we all know has become AHA+L. (distance, hygiene, everyday mask + ventilation)
This shows that the ventilation factor has been underestimated for a long time. Findings since the beginning of the Corona crisis show that the risk of infection is significantly higher in a closed room than in the open air. For this reason, the motto indoors is: ventilate, ventilate, ventilate.
Ventilation and Corona
Gyms are generally considered to be enclosed spaces with a high volume of visitors spread throughout the day. Here in particular, it is important to comply with the specified hygiene measures in order to prevent infection of members.
Here, the point of ventilation again plays a major role: tiny particles responsible for the transmission of the coronavirus - also called aerosols - linger in the air. Aerosols are not visible and spread by talking, laughing, coughing and especially sneezing. Only regular ventilation of the room and the associated air exchange succeed in removing the particles from the air.
Ventilation during sports
This point could be interesting especially for the sportsmen - because by fresh air we have the possibility to improve our training successes enormously. Muscles that are irritated use O2 for regeneration. If there is not enough oxygen, the muscles get the energy from carbohydrates. As a result, we are exhausted more quickly. Thus, it is advantageous for all sportsmen to always supply the body with fresh air. On the one hand, of course, by exercising outdoors and, on the other hand, by having open windows and sufficient air exchange.
Practical example
The fitness studio Fit and Fun in Petersberg knew how important ventilation is for athletes even before the pandemic.
The large light-flooded room has a total of two light walls with numerous window openers for electrically controlled ventilation. In addition to the light wall, there is a light dome that can also be opened and closed by an electric drive. The entire studio can be regularly ventilated with a few clicks on a touch display behind the reception counter. In case of rain, a rain sensor ensures that the drives close the windows automatically.
Are you also looking for electric window drives to make your ventilation concept more comfortable?
